our first real camping adventure.

our ward campout was up in prescott the weekend that i hit the 38 week mark in this pregnancy. a month ago i was thinking, no way in heck are we going to that. but on friday the 23rd our doctor said that there was nothing going on and that our little guy wasn't coming that weekend and we decided that it would be fun to go on one last little trip as a family of 3. i mostly figured that i didn't really sleep at home anyways so i might as well not sleep in the woods haha. plus we knew how much bri would love it and camping didn't disappoint!

we drove up friday afternoon and got our tent all set up and our tinfoil dinners started. the weather was beautiful and cool and it would have been worth the whole trip just to escape from the heat! bri loved our tent and exploring with aunt cc while everything was getting set up. we soon learned that "camping" to brielle meant our specific tentsite. haha. whenever we would go and walk around she would inevitably ask, "can we go back to camping now?" we ate tasty tinfoil dinners and there was some yummy dessert after a quick ward fireside, and then we went back to our "camping" and roasted marshmallows and hot dogs! my favorite part of camping! :) bri loved roasting the marshmallows, but didn't want to eat them at all. no one else wanted to eat hers either though cause she also loved to roast them directly in the dirt and charcoal haha.

finally it was time to get in the tent. i say finally, because bri couldn't wait to go to sleep in our tent haha. luckily she did really well and only took a few minutes to settle down. we had made her her own space, but she quickly migrated between us and kept bobby and i both snuggled all night long haha.

 the next morning we woke up to rain, but luckily we were snug as bugs in our tent. i loved listening to the rain through the tent though! we ate a big breakfast and then daddy, bri, and uncle spencey played hide and seek for like an hour. brielle LOVES hide and seek. she could seriously play it for hours and she is actually getting really good. we love how she clenches her eyes so tight when its her turn to count and she almost never cheats haha. plus she loves to hide. it is so fun to watch her play!

 about the time that they were finished playing, it started to rain harder so we quickly had to pack up our stuff. by the time we were ready to leave we were all soaked, but we had so much fun, brielle especially! and im so glad we decided to go, even if i was a little uncomfortable. it was definitely worth it to experience camping with bri for the first time! :)
